Art has a powerful healing effect on the human psyche and this has now become a recognizable fact in contemporary psychiactric and medical circles. Highly respected Peer reviewed medical journals detail the benefits of art in healing mind and body, so that art therapy programs have sprung up in  the medical establishment.  I first became involved as an art therapy volunteer at the VA Medical clinic in Livermore  in 2014. I spent 6 months assisting disabled veterans in creating art for their own personal pleasure until I had to move back to Southern California. Once in Southern California, I volunteered my art therapy services to Kaiser Permanente for another 8 months.   That program was called  Colors of Healing.  These are photos of the drawings I made for patients there.
